Characteristics of Permanent tissue
What is Permanent tissue?
The cells of these tissue which are not capable of division is known as permanent tissue. In other words those tissues which have lost the power of cell division is called permanent tissue. They are attained full size and shape. They originate from meristematic tissue.
Characteristics of Permanent tissue:
(i) These tissue have no power of cell division. For these reason they are called permanent tissue.
(ii)Cell wall is comparatively thick.
(iii) Nucleus is relatively small.
(iv)Cell contains less cytoplasm.
(v) Vacuole is large.
(vi) They have attained full shape and size.
(vii) In between the cells intercellular space present. In some cases this space may not be present.
